Michele Sisto

Michele Sisto is Associate Professor of German Literature at the University ‘Gabriele D’Annunzio’ of Chieti-Pescara. Since 2004 he has been conducting research on German literature which has been translated in Italy, as which is considered as an integral part of the national repertoire (together with the works of Italian writers). His publications focus both on writers of the German canon (Goethe, Büchner, Karl Kraus, Gunther Anders, Günter Grass, Christa Wolf) and on their mediators in Italy (Benedetto Croce, Giuseppe Prezzolini, Giuseppe Antonio Borgese, Lavinia Mazzucchetti, Cesare Cases, Enrico Filippini, Erich Linder). His research interests also range from literary theory to masculinity studies, from the sociology of literature to internet studies. He has been national coordinator of the project Storia e mappe digitali della letteratura tedesca in Italia nel Novecento: editoria, campo letterario, interferenza (MIUR, FURB/Futuro in Ricerca 2013-2018). He is also founder and coordinator of the website Ltit. – Letteratura tradotta in Italia, founder and director of the series ‘Letteratura tradotta in Italia’ (Quodlibet, with A.Baldini and I.Fantappiè), member of the scientific committee of the series Quadrifoglio tedesco (Mimesis), Alemanna (Mimesis) and Wunderkammer (Mimesis), and editor of the journals “Allegoria” and “Studi Germanici” and of the blog germanistica.net. His publications include: Traiettorie. Studi sulla letteratura tradotta in Italia (Macerata, Quodlibet, 2019), La letteratura tedesca in Italia. Un’introduzione 1900-1920 (Macerata, Quodlibet 2018); he curated, amongst others, the volumes Cesare Cases, Scegliendo e scartando. Pareri di Lettura (Turin, Aragno, 2013), Lavinia Mazzucchetti.
